The O'Donovan retires from active service!

The photo is of The O'Donovan after his sponsored walk from St. Matthews in Baltimore to Abbeystrewry , on which occasion he raised almost 1,000 Euro for the Restoration appeal out of a total of 7,000 Euro collected on the day.

The O’Donovan of Hollybrook House, has decided after many years of service, to retire from the many Church of Ireland’s committees that he has been a member of, for the past 24 years, including the following;

      Parochial;   Select Vestry                                     1980  -  2004

                        Treasurer                                          1980  - 1984

      Diocesan;  Diocesan Council & Treasurer            1983  -  2004

                        Diocesan Synod                                1983  -

      Representative Church Council;    Member           1989  -  2004

      Executive Committee/ Finance Committee            1990  -  1999

      Investments Committee                                       1983  -  1995

           Stipend Committee (Chairman)                       1985  -  1995

         Central Staff Committee                                   1995  -  1999

I am sure that everyone who has worked with Dan on committee at Local, Diocesan and RCB level, will miss his integrity, honesty, truthfulness, veracity and downright good humour at all times.  Madam Jane will be a happier lady, now that she will have more of his  company and an extra gardener to boot!!
